We are excited to announce new career opportunities at our K-12 Servant Leaders Christian Academy. Servant Leaders Christian Academy is a Christ-centered educational setting for students in K-6th grade; located in Southern California. SLCA is currently hiring teachers and administrative staff for full-time and part-time positions. Candidates must feel compatible with the school’s philosophy, mission, vision, and goals

Servant Leaders Christian Academy believes in the worth of all people. All full-time employees have the opportunity to receive our employee benefits. SLCA covers 90% of health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents. Life insurance and a prescription drug program are also available for employees. Employees receive 12 paid sick days and up to 11 paid holiday and bonus days each year.

K-6 Teachers

Expectations for SLCA Teachers

In addition to classroom duties, SLCA teachers assist in school programs and extracurricular activities, work with the administration to keep parents adequately informed of student discipline, and integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curricula from a Biblical worldview.

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with a teaching certificate, and at least three years of teaching experience. Candidates must be able to explain and support the school’s philosophy, mission, vision, and goals. They must have the heart to love and care for students.

Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to:

  • step in based on students’ needs (e.g., counseling students and their families, supporting students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties, and serving culturally and linguistically diverse students)
  • teach both remotely and in-person in a flexible educational atmosphere
  • run their classrooms online and interact with students virtually
  • provide classroom instruction in Grades K-6 depending on grade level
  • facilitate the BJU Christian Classroom Online (CCO) while virtually providing project-based assessments
  • maintain clear, open, and professional communication with parents
Administrative Staff

Expectations for Administrative Staff

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of working experience at a school. They must possess a strong command of verbal communication and writing skills. Candidates must be able to explain and support the school’s philosophy, mission, vision, and goals. They must have the heart to love and care for students.

Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to:

  • step in based on students’ needs (e.g., counseling students and their families, supporting students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties, and serving culturally and linguistically diverse students)
  • work both remotely and in-person in a flexible educational atmosphere
  • use traditional and digital marketing techniques in order to recruit new students
  • supervise students virtually using a Zoom technology setting, as necessary
  • work independently, answering routine questions and correspondence from parents, staff, and students, without requiring the supervisor’s attention
  • research, create, input, format, organize, and edit relevant data as needed or requested and prepare in a usable, professional format
  • manage special projects as assigned by leadership
  • use Google suite, Canva, and social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
